1. Meet the requirements to become a Vermont notary (see below).

2. Complete the Oath of Office. Take the oath before a notary public or a justice of the peace, and have your signature notarized.

3. Make an account here to access Vermont's online licensing system, or login to an existing account. Note: If you are renewing your notary commission, you will have to take a 2-hour notary training class before renewing your commission.

4. Click Apply for Individual License and complete the Vermont notary application. Upload your signed and notarized Oath of Office (step 2) and pay the $30 fee.

5. Once your application has been approved, you will receive an email from the Office of Professional Regulation.

6. Your Vermont notary commission will be available to you on your online licensing account.
